AFSP regional branches

Join your local branch of the Association for Family and Systemic Psychotherapy (AFSP) and become part of a thriving network across the UK. You’ll learn from each other, socialise and meet continuing professional development (CPD) requirements.

Our regional branches are run voluntarily by AFSP members. They help members gain CPD hours through events, conferences and workshops on a range of family and systemic practice and psychotherapy topics.

You don’t need to be a member to attend branch events, though AFSP membership is encouraged by the groups. You just need to have an interest in family and systemic practice.

About

The Northern Ireland branch of AFSP serves the entire systemic community across the region. We actively promote systemic practice and family therapy, fostering strong professional connections between therapists working in diverse settings throughout the area.

The branch provides opportunities for networking, partnership and continued learning. We are supported by close links and working relationships with Queen’s University Belfast, regional Health and Social Care Trusts and the voluntary sector.

Our Chair, Mary O’Neill, is a long-standing committee member and contributes nationally through AFSP’s Registration Committee. We have a well-established committee and welcome new members.

About

AFSP’s Scotland branch aims to bring together family and systemic psychotherapists and systemic practitioners to support the development and promotion of family and systemic psychotherapy across the country.

By offering connection, learning and professional development, we aim to strengthen and promote high-quality, ethical systemic psychotherapy within Scottish contexts.

Shaped by feedback from members, the branch provides CPD events across the year (both online and in-person), peer networks and reflective spaces that support practice across NHS, statutory, third-sector and independent settings.

Branch members actively contribute to AFSP’s wider work by attending other committees, ensuring Scottish perspectives inform decisions, conversations and developments in policy and training.

Whether you’re newly qualified or bring lots of experience, we offer a warm welcome. You’ll meet an engaged community, committed to strengthening systemic practice and connections across Scotland and beyond.

About

AFSP’s West Country branch has a long-standing commitment to providing affordable and professionally relevant CPD events to systemic colleagues studying, living or working in the West Country.

We host 3 or 4 CPD events a year, both online and in-person. We invite local systemic therapists to present on topics that they’re passionate about. We also host whole-day events with well-known presenters from across the systemic field.

We welcome anyone interested in systemic practice and family therapy, whether you’re new to the field or have many years of experience.
