Digital Frontiers: AI, Web3, The Metaverse and Beyond
Digital life is no longer an add-on to our patients’ worlds – it is the context in which relationships, risk, help-seeking and harm now unfold. This webinar maps the key “digital frontiers” shaping clinical work today, from social media ecosystems and AI chatbots to emerging Web3 cultures and immersive environments. We will examine how these technologies are influencing identity, attachment, self-harm and suicide risk, and the ways in which families, clinicians and services are being reshaped in the process. Rather than offering simple reassurance or alarm, the session will provide a grounded framework for asking better questions about digital life in assessment, formulation and ongoing treatment. Participants will leave with language, concepts and practical tools to engage with these issues confidently, ethically and collaboratively in their everyday practice.
