Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT), developed by Dr Sue Johnson, is a humanistic-systemic therapy model that is attachment driven and has a clear and successful map of where you are going and how. The course is focused on working with couples/relationships.
The training will involve immersion into the science and power of attachment, emotion, and relatedness that can shift the way you understand clients and personal or relationship distress. This four-day foundation is one of the requirements towards becoming a Certified EFCT therapist. Training methods include presentations, video clips, exercises, experiential group work and discussion, and a ‘live’ couple therapy session.
