About Sarah

As a systemic family therapist I am interested in hearing about people in the context of their relationships and communities. I offer a supportive, therapeutic relationship where people can talk about issues important to them and where we can think together about what you would like to be different and what you value and want to keep. I am used to working with families, couples, individuals and teams of professionals and want to hear everybody's views and work with you and your resources in a way that fits for you. I ask questions to try and help you find new perspectives and understandings. I will regularly review with you what you find useful or not about how we work together. I am trained as a Family and Systemic Psychotherapist, qualifying in 2005 after first training and working as a Social Worker. I worked in NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health for 13 years, and also with couples and families in private practice for several years. I have also worked as a clinical lecturer and tutor. I have worked with trans and gender diverse people in NHS and independent services. I am a qualified Systemic Supervisor and within the NHS supervised a training clinic, I also supervise individuals privately - senior education leaders, systemic therapists and practitioners. I also work for Barnardo's as a Consultant.
