About Paul
Thanks for visiting my page. My website has some further information about me both personally and professionally, including the services I offer.
I hope you find the right support that you may need at this time of looking, either here, or elsewhere.
I am a U.K.C.P fully registered Systemic Psychotherapist.
I have extensive experience spread over decades of working with both adults and children who present with a range of mental health, emotional, and/or behavioural difficulties within both The NHS, Statutory Social Care settings and more recently, now mainly in Private Practice.
I currently provide individuals, couples, and whole families, including children, a safe space to reflect on the challenges that may have emerged in their lives. Prioritising providing a space to process and attend to difficulties that you may have faced, either just for yourself, and/or within your relationships.
My take of a systemic psychotherapy is that it promotes a world view that we are not in isolation and to understand one person, we must consider people within their broader context.
I offer a free; no obligation, initial 30 minute enquiry session. Either virtually or on the phone, to establish whether I may be able to help. I see this as a collaborative discussion to also establish whether we could work together and whether you feel I could be helpful. (If I feel signposting is indicated, I will discuss this with you)
I have my own therapy space in Orchard Street Business Centre, Orchard Street, BS1 5EH. Sadly, this does not have disabled access, so if this is required I can book rooms in Barton Hill Wellbeing Centre, which does have easy access and a free public car park nearby. I can also provide virtual therapy with online sessions, although only with adults.
I hold the belief that the answers we are searching for are held within us, all within our own reach, and I provide assistance to guide families to be able to manage their our personal difficulties.
What to expect from your first session. If you choose for us to work together, firstly, I recommend we initially have a 3-5 set number of sessions to build a shared picture of an understanding of the difficulties that you and your family may be facing. For some people this understanding itself becomes a helpful platform to move forward in life. For others this sets the focus for our work.
I provide both short term and longer term, open ended therapy.
I am interested in Narrative Therapy and use a good amount of these resources and techniques in my therapeutic work. Exploring the stories we are connected to, and reflecting on the untold stories can be a profound experience for many clients.
I hope this has given you a flavour of me and my orientation to my work.
