About Edinson
I am Edinson Quinayas-Rodriguez, a qualified Family and Systemic Psychotherapist registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), the Black African and Asian Therapy Network (BAATN), and the Association for Family and Systemic Psychotherapy (AFSP).
I have a Post Graduate clinical specialisation in Open Dialogue, two therapeutic parenting programmes, Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) and Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities (SFSC). I am also qualified and registered with the National Youth Agency as a Youth and Community worker.
I am a male of British and Colombian heritage who has lived in London for over 27 years. Leaving in London has enriched my personal life by granting me the opportunity to closely live and learn from several communities across the world. I trained in this vibrant and cosmopolitan city at several academic clinical institutions, such as the Tavistock and Portman Centre, Goldsmith University, the Institute of Family Therapy, and London South Bank University.
I have over 14 years of experience of working with families and children affected from wide range of situations, such as depression, anxiety, low mood, parents and children facing relational difficulties, parents raising children with neurodiversity needs (ADHD and Autism), and I have also had the opportunity to work with foster families. I have honed, my clinical experience through working in different NHS Trusts, several London Local Authorities, and the Charity sector.
I have a compassionate, caring, collaborative, and transparence approach to work with children and families, informed and guided by the principles of Dialogical Family and Systemic Psychotherapy. This enable me to use my experience, expertise and knowledge in a humane, creative, and compassionate manner. To join you, in your unique journey to discover how to best approach your particular circumstances.
Polyphony Therapy has emerged as the next step in my clinical journey. To offer an alternative for those whose way of lives do not bringing them in contact with big therapeutic institutions. With the hope that Polyphonic Therapy can make a meaningful contribution to your lives.
Outside my clinical live, I enjoy ridding my bike, to do physical exercises and dance. Eating well and feed my spirit through mindfulness practice.
