About Benedicte
I am a clinical psychologist, systemic psychotherapist, and supervisor with more than 30 years of experience working with people, relationships, and organisations across Denmark, Scandinavia, and the United Kingdom. My work unfolds in the space between the personal and the professional – between inner life and the social, organisational worlds in which people live and work.
Throughout my career, I have been deeply engaged with how people develop in relationship with others, and how safe, reflective spaces can foster healing, learning, and meaningful change. Whether I am working in therapy with an individual, supervising an early-career psychologist, or supporting a leadership team, my starting point is the same: people always do the best they can with the understanding and resources they have – and behind every difficulty lies a frustrated dream that can be rediscovered and given new life.
I work with psychotherapy for young people and adults, with supervision at all levels – from early professional training to the supervision of experienced supervisors – and with the development of leaders, teams, and organisations. I have particular expertise in the fields of child and family work, complex social and mental health contexts, and services supporting vulnerable children, young people, and adults.
Over the years, I have developed a collaborative supervision and learning model designed to meet the needs of modern organisations, where cross-disciplinary cooperation, shared responsibility, and sustainable solutions are essential. This approach reshapes supervision into a living practice space in which professionals learn to think and work together across roles and perspectives. My work is always grounded in real practice and in the concrete dilemmas people face in their everyday professional lives.
I am a clinical psychologist with postgraduate qualifications in systemic psychotherapy, supervision, and organisational consultancy, and I am accredited in both Denmark and the United Kingdom. I have founded and co-founded national initiatives supporting children and families affected by adversity and mental illness, and I have worked for many years as a consultant, supervisor, and therapist in public and voluntary sector services in both Denmark and the UK.
I work fluently in both Scandinavian languages (Danish and related Nordic languages) and in English, and I regularly support clients and organisations across linguistic and cultural contexts.
What unites all my work is a deep respect for human complexity and for the conditions under which people live and work. I believe that growth emerges in relationships where there is room for vulnerability, curiosity, and hope – and that meaningful change becomes possible when people feel seen, understood, and supported in making sense of their own lives and practices.
