About Amma

Psychotherapy with Amma -

Relationships and families take many forms. You may be looking to reconnect, improve communication, navigate conflict or change, understand recurring patterns, or make sense of a difficult experience. You may simply want space to explore what is happening in your life and relationships.

I offer a thoughtful, non-judgmental space where individuals, couples and families can feel and be heard, consider different perspectives and find ways forward that are meaningful to them. I am a qualified Systemic and Family Psychotherapist with extensive experience across the NHS, local authorities and the voluntary sector.

I work with individuals, couples, families, children and young people, and wider relationship networks. People come to me with concerns including relationship difficulties, separation, parenting, estrangement, trauma, loss, identity, life transitions and family change. I also welcome those who want to explore their relationships or understand themselves more deeply, without needing a diagnosis or a clearly defined problem.

My practice is inclusive of diverse relationships and family structures, including blended families, throuples and polyamorous relationships. I bring cultural awareness and curiosity to experiences of race, faith, belonging, and interracial and interfaith relationships.

My work also includes relationships across different social backgrounds, where experiences of money, education, upbringing, family expectations or belonging may shape how people understand or mis understand one another.

How I work -

Systemic psychotherapy considers how our relationships, experiences and wider circumstances shape the difficulties we face and the possibilities for change. We will work together in a way that fits you and the people involved. Conversation is central to my work.

Where useful, we may also draw on creative and experiential approaches, such as visual or written exercises, timelines, objects, movement, guided meditation, sound or body-based practices. These are always optional and explored collaboratively.

To explore working together, book a complimentary consultation by telephone or online. We can talk about what brings you here, answer any questions you have and consider which option best suits your needs and circumstances.
