About Sam

Originally from New Zealand, I have lived in the UK with my wife and two children since 2012.

With over 25 years of experience working collaboratively with people, I am a qualified systemic psychotherapist, family therapist, and clinical supervisor. I am a Registered Member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and a member of the Association for Family Therapy and Systemic Practice (AFT).

Alongside my small private practice, I work within the NHS in an adult mental health psychotherapy service. Previously, I worked in early intervention services, supporting individuals and families experiencing a first episode of psychosis and emerging personality difficulties.

I also provide supervision to both trainee and experienced clinicians, as well as organisational and team supervision. In addition, I am an academic tutor at Plymouth University, where I teach systemic theory and practice.
