About Catherine

MSc., PGDip, PGCert, B.Sc. (Hons), Dip. SW, Dip. Couns.

Professional Registrant United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and Association for Systemic and Family Therapy (AFST).

I am a systemic, person-centred psychotherapist, and I bring warmth, curiosity, and deep respect for human relationships into my work. I am passionate about supporting individuals, couples, and families as they navigate life’s challenges, transitions, and moments of uncertainty, helping them reconnect with their strengths and sense of possibility.

With over 25 years of experience working alongside individuals, couples, and families, I bring a depth of understanding that comes from both professional training and many years of listening carefully to people’s lived experiences. Over time, I have learned that no two journeys are the same, and that meaningful change often unfolds through patience, curiosity, and compassion. This experience allows me to work with confidence and sensitivity, while remaining open, reflective, and responsive to what each person brings into the therapeutic space.

At the heart of my practice is a belief in the transformative power of relationships. I understand that healing and meaningful change do not happen in isolation, but within the context of our connections — to ourselves, to others, and to the wider systems that shape our lives. I place great importance on developing a strong, authentic therapeutic relationship built on trust, empathy, and collaboration, where growth can unfold safely and at your own pace.

I offer a welcoming, nurturing, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without fear of being judged or rushed. I work alongside you, valuing your lived experience and collaborating to find ways forward that honour your values, culture, and unique story. Whether I am working with couples navigating conflict, families facing complex challenges, or individuals seeking personal growth, I approach each piece of work with care, sensitivity, and respect.

My approach is systemic and holistic, recognising that we are all shaped by our relationships, histories, and environments. I integrate a range of therapeutic modalities, tailoring my work to meet your specific needs and remaining responsive to what emerges within the therapeutic process. I am deeply committed to cultural awareness and inclusivity, and I strive to work in ways that are respectful, relational, and responsive to difference.

I am a UKCP-registered psychotherapist and a Professional Registrant with the Association for Systemic and Family Therapy (AFT). My professional training includes an MSc in Systemic psychotherapy, Postgraduate Diploma in Systemic Practice and Family Therapy (PGDip), Postgraduate Certificate in Systemic Practice and Family Therapy (PGCert), BSc (Hons) in Social Work, a Diploma in Social Work, and a Diploma in Counselling, reflecting both depth of training and a longstanding commitment to ongoing professional development.

Alongside my clinical work, I am a community consultant, supporting mental health awareness and promoting good relations within the community. I believe strongly in the importance of fostering understanding, compassion, and connection, and I am committed to contributing to a more inclusive and supportive society where people can thrive.

Whether you are struggling with anxiety or low mood, experiencing relationship difficulties, feeling stuck, or simply seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, I offer a compassionate and collaborative therapeutic journey. Together, we will explore new perspectives, uncover hidden strengths, and develop practical ways of navigating life’s complexities with greater confidence and resilience — discovering how meaningful connection can support lasting and sustainable change.
