Systemic Family and Couple Psychotherapist

Shelene Lammie

About Shelene

I am a Systemic Family and Couple Psychotherapist, working with individuals, couples and families who are experiencing relationship difficulties, emotional distress, or periods of transition and change. I hold an MSc in Systemic and Couples Psychotherapy, alongside a background in Social Work and Psychology, and I currently practise within both NHS and private settings. I have over two decades of experience working within mental health, supporting individuals, families, and couples through periods of difficulty and transition

My approach is relational and collaborative. I am interested in how people’s difficulties are shaped within the contexts of their relationships, life experiences, wider systems, cultural background, and social worlds. I aim to offer a thoughtful, respectful space where different perspectives can be explored and where people can make sense of patterns that may feel stuck or painful. I am mindful of cultural issues, diversity, and neurodiversity, and adapt my practice to meet the unique needs of each individual or family.

I have experience working with families and couples around issues including communication breakdown, conflict, parenting challenges, separation and change, emotional wellbeing, and the impact of stress, trauma or life events on relationships. I work in a way that values each person’s voice and strengths, and I adapt my practice to meet the needs of those I am working with.

I am a member of the Association for Family Therapy and Systemic Practice (AFT) and work in line with its ethical framework. I receive regular supervision and am committed to ongoing professional development.

I offer therapy online and by telephone, with face-to-face sessions available by arrangement.
